Campground suggestions near Santa Fe

We have stayed at Santa Fe Skies RV Park and Cochiti. The choice for us is the time of year (we snowbird in S. NM) and whether we need a FHU site.

All of the Forest Service campgrounds in SW Colorado honor the senior pass. A couple I can recommend are McPhee Reservoir Recreation Complex near Mesa Verde NP, Haviland Lake and Junction Creek cgs near Durango, and Cayton cg south of Telluride, all with 30/50A electric hookups, water faucets, and a dump (although McPhee's dump is closed this year).

If you end up towards Taos I think you can boondock at the ski area for up to 14 days, from there up to Co is about a hours drive, not sure where you were exactly talking about. In Sante Fe we used the Trailer Park Ranch but it was in town but a nice place/

Tetilla Peak campground is on the other side of the lake from the COE campground. We did not ride over to take a look at it but it is on tribal lands and may have different rules then Cochiti. Then again it may just be part of Cochiti.

I'd stay at Cochiti and use your pass. It's a wonderful place & easy drive to Santa Fe.

I understand that Cochiti is pretty well booked up for the summer. I think they do have some non reservation sites if no one else has claimed them. Some dry camping spots too. Have you looked at freecampsites.net for possible boondocking, city, county parks, fairgrounds or anything else in the area?

We stay at the Roadrunner RV park nothing fancy but has large pull through site. We make use of the casino in the area most have good buffets.
