Camping in the Redwoods

We are looking for an RV park in Northern California that is actually located in the Redwoods, if possible. If possible, near Ferndale/Eureka. Full hook up, not a parking lot, clean and quiet at night. Thanks for any suggestions.

Lots of great roads -- Avenue of the Giants, Mattole Rd., Newton Drury Parkway. If you have a few minutes, check this out:

One other random thought -- if you get to the redwoods during blackberry season, there is a great blackberry patch along the back fence at Ancient Redwoods. Delicious. But don't eat too many at once, like I did. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Another vote for Ancient Redwoods. We stayed there a few years ago while in that general area, GREAT place and the staff were very nice and helpful to us!

One tip about Ancient Redwoods is that the check-in is at the store before your commit yourself to the campground area. I saw multiple people driving around confused while they tried to figure out where to register.

We liked both Ancient Redwoods and Kamp Klamath. Very different places, both well located.

AR is a modern parking lot style setup. Very sunny (which can be a good thing), even though it is surrounded by redwoods.

Kamp Klamath is much "funkier," not as modern, but more like camping than parking. Plenty of shade, very quiet, not right on the road.

KK has live music and a barbecue every Saturday night. But not everyone likes this place (even though we do). The bathrooms are pretty basic and need work, but local land use regulations are impairing the ability of the owners to upgrade the baths.

We have stayed at the Ancient Redwoods on two different occasions and like it a lot. Basically in the middle of where you want to be. Really nice owners who will help you plan your stay and activities in the Redwwoods. Good full service hookups, roomy sites, easy in and out of park and sites. One I would definitely recommend.

Ancient Redwoods was nice. Absolutely no cell service, but their paid wifi was good and fast. I was able to make cell calls using it.

I liked the Giant Redwoods RV Park.

In the redwoods FHU sites right on the Eel river.

There is also Ancient Redwoods RV Park mainly a large open campground surrounded By The Redwoods,a good base camp to explore from.

Both about 50 miles from Ferndale.

To get truly into the Redwoods you would have to go to the State Parks near by both of these but they are dry Camping, for that we always stay at Burlington

Not quite where you're after, but we stayed at Klamath River RV Park:
http://www.klamathriverrv.com/

Grassy spots. We were off to one side and had a decent sized spot.

It was just down the road from the northern side of the Redwoods State & National Park.

The only problem with this place is spaces are short. Del Norte is also an option if you can do dry camps.

The OP asked for full hookups. Jeremiah SP does not have them.
