Canadians ATVing in Arizona

Can anyone clue me into what is required to legally run an ATV around the Yuma area. ???
I contacted the Arizona DOT/licensing section (waste of a long distance call), was finally told, after a 30 minute conversation, to contact the Fish and Game ???? They advised they had nothing to do with it and would be best to go to a MVD office on arrival. This is now the plan.

However with that said, just wondering if any of you ATV'rs can fill me in on the ins and outs and details etc.

BTW, I was also informed by ADOT that if the ATV was not to exceed 30 days in AZ, I was good to go on my plates and insurance. I clarified by asking if I went across the line to Calif. for a day of riding once every 2-3 weeks, if that would comply with AZ law. Was again put on hold while she apparently checked with someone else and came back on line and told me that was correct.

When we bought our ATVs we paid 20-40?? bucks for a off road, one time plate. Then a few years ago the politicians thought up the idea of the Game & Fish charging $35.00 per year and the general fund grabbing the loot, blaming the tax on G&F.. We get nothing except the opportunity for the off road gestapo to collect more loot from those of us who refuse to pay the tax. I ask one of the officers when he was checking our camp how many off road riders he caught destroying the desert, his job. . None. He spent his day writing tickets to feed the government coffers....

I know what you mean..Lol, when we first moved here all they required was either an "off road tag" or "on/off road tag." No other fees at all and the tag (off road) was permanent. Game and Fish told me if I ever got caught crossing a paved or government maintained road with the off road tag I would be severely fined...so really what's the point purchasing the off road tag? Now they charge you a yearly usage fee (per atv) for you to ride on land that "we the people own." They claim the money is used to maintain trails but the money has been misused...I think they probably did hire a few extra officers and put them on ATV's so they could increase revenue by ticketing all of us that may bend the rules a little.:M I'll trailer my ATV's to private land or an ATV friendly state before paying a usage fee. My fuel has gone stale since I haven't been on the ATV in 6 years:h
