OK all you Cape Blanco experts out there, give me some input. I am aware that Cape Blanco is first come first serve for getting camp spots. About what time in the morning do you suggest I arrive to get a spot?

We've been there often and try to get there between 10-12. We've always gotten a site -spring, summer, fall. It's a favorite park of ours.

Here's an excellent video review of the park from the volunteer lighthouse keepers. They have many park reviews throughout the country. It's an excellent blog. They enjoy the kind of RVing we do along with giving lighthouse tours. ๐Ÿ™‚

In general, I start with thinking when most people leave a campground. My guess is between 10 and noon. So we try and come in around 1pm. If we are in the area already, we may scope it out around 10am. Mid week, mid day always seems to work at Cape Blanco, except during the Country Music Festival, which is at the end of the month.

When are you arriving...?
You probably already know that you can forget about today and tomorrow. (4th weekend).

Otherwise, as with all first come spots, it's up in the air. Some folks like to leave early, others just after lunch. You take your chances. But, we camp a lot on the Oregon Coast in the State Parks including Cape Blanco and from now until mid September, all I can say is good luck.
