Cape May or Wildwood, NJ

We're Thousand Trails members, so we've only stayed at the 2 Outdoor World/Thousand Trails parks in the area- but we do really like Sea Pines. It's just as you described - very shaded, not packed and close-ish to the beach (almost a straight shot into Avalon, NJ).

We like to stay at Cape Henlopen SP (NE tip of the Delmarva peninsula) and take the ferry over.

We have always likes Seashore Campsites near Cape May, they were bought this year by Sun RV Resorts but have heard a lot of the same people will still be working there so not sure how it will change.

Delaware Seashore State Park is the closest to the beach and should be real nice when they get the upgrades finished. Just a thought,

There dozens of campgrounds in Cape May County - from plain to fancy, but none of them are cheap, and they all are going to be busy in August, but the later in August the better, as kids go back to school earlier and earlier. Older kids will want to hang out at a boardwalk - Ocean City is most family friendly, but Wildwood much more fun. You can take dogs on the beaches of Lower Township, but they are on the Delaware Bay side. The only ocean beach I know of is Stone Harbor where you can take them between 7 PM and dark, but they have to be leashed.

stayed at Sea Pines last year. Roads are very tight a lot of trees with low hanging branches, very dusty. Had to ride around looking for a site, not fun pulling a trailer. Will not go back

We've stayed at Beachcomber for the past 7yrs. Lots of shade, a few pools, swim lake with beach, and playground on the beach area. Nice family that runs it.

We've also stayed at Seashore Campsites. I think they were recently bought by Sun Resorts. Nice place too. Pool and lake as well.

Last year we stayed at Ocean View Resort, things to do on site, not far from beach, Wildwood and Cape May, nice campground.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Just booked at The Depot Travel Park because it's close to where the rest of the family have rented a cottage. Decided we didn't really need the pools and activities since we'll be mostly on the beach. Anybody ever been there? Didn't find any mentions of it in the last 12 months on this forum, but rvparkreviews.com have been generally positive. Let me know what you think.
