No dump is not a problem for us as long as you know it before hand. - 1stgenfarmboyExplorerNo dump is not a problem for us as long as you know it before hand.

Yes I have been to Cataloochee valley as well as the Cataloochee turnpike and all up around Max Patch but failed to ride through the CG.
the remoteness is the reason I am camping there, not much of a fan of PF or GB
me neither but Lake Fontana or Lake Santeelah is super nice as well. Both have some really nice remote campgrounds with at least a dump station. - 1stgenfarmboyExplorerYes I have been to Cataloochee valley as well as the Cataloochee turnpike and all up around Max Patch but failed to ride through the CG.

I have looked everywhere I know and can't find a yes or no on.
Does Cataloochee CG " the one north of Maggie Valley NC, have a dump station ? ?
thanks Dar
You are aware that you will be pretty much isolated up there and that the main road going to the campground is steep and winding, and unpaved for a few miles. Oh and narrow when passing cars which could be any curve... - 1stgenfarmboyExplorerThanks kohldad, I guess that's what I was looking for was an absolute yes or no with no gray area, I read on the site but I have also seen them leave off some important info on the .gov sites.
we are headed there a week from today for 6 days, I guess we will need to use there bathrooms as much as possible, fresh water, gray, and power we can handle.
I have had reservations for 6 months, I tend to make them on the 1st possible day. - RV Park Reviews has the info you need as well.
Dale - kohldadExplorer IIIAnd I can confirm from personal experience that Cataloochee does not have a dump station. It is a small campground and you do need to make sure you have reservations before you enter the valley.
For phone service, the closest place is the overlook shortly after the gravel road turns back to pavement and you start to go down into the valley. Usually, I have to climb the hill to the highest point of the over look for a signal and even then sometimes can only send text messages.
Enjoy it and hope you get to see some young ones if you go. They should be coming out into the fields in a few more weeks. - LwiddisExplorer IITheir website seems to cover it. "Dump Stations for RVs - Dump stations with potable water are located at Cades Cove, Cosby, Deep Creek, Look Rock, and Smokemont campgrounds. In addition, there is a dump station located across the road from the Sugarlands Visitor Center, approximately six miles from Elkmont Campground." Surprised you didn't find it. They list the campgrounds that do.
