Central Florida to Melbourne RV sites

This is our first adventure with a RV & want to be within a reasonable distance to Kissimmee & St. Cloud area to be with our grandchildren between Jan thru March, and also try some other parks to get aquainted with our new (used) RV. Prefer longer stays with hookup, but any suggestions would be fine. I have seen several Florida posts, but not many in central area. Thanks!
  • WOW! Thanks for all of the suggestions! I used this site for input on our choice for getting a RV too. What a great group that helps. Hope I can provide input in the future. Thanks again.
  • Wickham Park (county) Melbourne, 154 full hookups, wifi. Just spent two weeks there $23 night. Can stay max of 180 days.
  • Christmas RV Park in Christmas FL. US 50 25 miles east of Orlando between Orlando and Titusville. Lower monthly rates than other parks that time of year.
Wekiwa Springs State Park in Apopka is nice. They do have a stay limit. Think it's 14 days. I would make reservations.
Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake is another option.
Orlando SW-Fort Summit KOA in Davenport gets ok reviews.
Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont.
Elite Resorts at Citrus Valley in Clermont.
    Enjoy your trip!
  • We are at the "Olde Mill Stream" in Umatilla. Check out their website and if interested call early, there are not many openings at that time of year. Only 50 minutes to Disney yet quite with good shopping nearby and Mt. Dora is a beautiful little town to be near. Go to rvreviews.com and check out any you are thinking of, always good to hear what other think, but take each comment with a grain of salt we are not all the same.
  • Last year we tried Long Point Park, Melbourne Beach and are returning for a few nights again this year. It is a Brevard County park and very reasonable for the area at about $30 with water & electric. It's set in the Indian River so plenty of water views around. Not fancy but nice friendly atmosphere.

Not sure if they have sites left for this winter coming up, but that will be a question mark everywhere. Reservations have been done by telephone in the past, but looks like they have added online res. Unlike some public parks, they don't seem to have a two week limit.
