Cherokee Jellystone Yogi in the Smokies or KOA

I am staying a week in August in Cherokee NC. Can stay at Yogi for $300 or KOA for $350, those rates are for off river in my travel trailer. Will have 2 12 year olds that would love the water slide at the KOA pool. They will love tubing and playing in the river/creek also. Not sure which one will be better for that. My parents will be with me too and want to go to Harrah's to gamble a few days. Also, our 2 dogs will be with us so an off leash area is a plus. Would you pick Yogi for $300 or KOA for $350? and why?
  • We spent entire week at KOA with kids and they loved indoor and outdoor pool. There is a creek by campground they enjoyed and the roads were paved and the sites were paved so it was very clean and great for bike riding with small kids. There was night time movies, popcorn and jumping pillow. We did drive thru Yogi and it was nice but more wooded and hills. Tripadvisor ranks them the same so you can't go wrong but what we really liked at KOA was you were in a valley surrounded by mountains and night sky views were amazing on clear nights.
  • Never stayed at the KOA but stayed at yogi a couple of times. We enjoyed it and so did our kids.
  • KOA. More to do and better park upkeep. Reviews on RV Park reviews support that view.
  • Do some further checking as to added costs for both the tubing and the water slide.
    You might be surprised.
Jellystone parks seem more geared to younger kids, in my experience .
    Good Luck, Mike
