cherrystone campground

We were there 10 yrs ago, our best family vacation ever! I don't remember where the eats were but at the campground they (at least 10 yrs ago)have a seafood hut where they steam clams, crabs or what ever you want...very cool! Hope you have a great time!

Used to be able to get clams right from there farm, also could go out on a fishing boat right from the campground. We went a couple miles down to the dock and bought crabs by the bushel right off the boat.

Cherrystone is a decent place, Lots to do if you like water activities. however beware it can flood very badly in a long hard rain.

POORBOY, Go to the clam aquaculture farm to the left of CHERRYSTONES entrance to buy a full bushel of real cherrystones. get your crabs wth a crab trap bought at the baitstore in cherrystone. walk it out at low tide with a Clorox bottle marker and reap the harvest that night. Best yet go to Virginia Beach and eat at Capt. Georges seafood buffet.Incredable place to eat for the family. Check out Capt. Georges web site. Don't let the crowqds scare you at Capt Georges they seat 850 people with no waiting or problems. Go on the Miss Jennifer sunset dolphin cruise with BYO beer/wine, for an unforgettable site. We will be there then too. We have been going every year for about 17 years now. You can get clams at the aquafarm. I think it's $60 a bushel. If you want to buy crabs the best places are when you come off 13 towards the campground follow the signs to the shack at the end os the road on your right. iF YOU WANT TO BUY LESS THEN A BUSHEL GO TO THE RED SHACK SOUTH ON 13 RIGHT PAST hARDEES ON THE NORTHBOUND Side OR nOTTINGhams FISH MARKET ABOUT 5 MILES NORTH ON THE SOUTHBOUND SIDE. Sounds confusing but there is only 1 road so you'll find everything.
