Cherrystone Campground in Virginia

I can't even imagine someone dumping anything even close to mat! If we are getting the whole story ( not that we're not ) I would have to put the blame on the staff for not making him move his truck the first time.

I think no matter where you go you chance being next to some very inconsiderate people, I've been lucky so far. I know we stay up late around the fire or playing cards and we aren't whispering. I know when I call it a night, early or late I hear nothing outside with the ac on and always keep a box can around to drown out any other noise.

Sorry to hear about your recent experience at Cherrystone. My wife and two grandkids spend five days there earlier in the month and had a wonderful time. The folks on the adjacent sites were all respectful and we had zero issues. The staff was very helpful and courteous.

Some people are just a holes. Some things that were mentioned sounded inconsiderate some were just deliberate. The police should have come directly to your site after a pit stop at the ranger station. Just my opinion I could be wrong. I am going there in August.

We too have been going to Cherrystone for many, many years but gave up on them a few years ago. They have really let this wonderful place go on a downhill slide for a long time. The sites were flooding and standing in water for several days after a rainstorm, the management have taken a take it or leave it attitude. I am afraid that soon this wonderful piece of waterfront property will be sold to developers. Sad but it seems to be following a trend.
Please post your review on rvparkreviews so that others may not have a vacation ruined by things that ruined yours.

by any chance were they from another country, possibly to the North and did they speak French. there have been prior posts that those folks will overwhelm Cherrystone at certain times.

I have a call into the Sheriff's officers to find out why they did not come to see us. We were asked to wait for them several sites down. If my husband had threatened the others, wouldn't the police want to speak to him? Why wouldn't they speak to the person who requested the assistance? (unless they did not know where we were told to wait by the manager)Having the manager tell me that "He did not care if my motorhome burned up during the night" was unbelievable. The older couple next to us were afraid to complain after seeing what happened to us! (someone threw all their beer can under their trailer during the night)I would hate for others to experience such bad behaviors! I feel really bad for the owner. She had such a fantastic place there. I will miss the place but not the manager. If he leaves and they clean up the place, It could be not only great and also profitable!

The police were not told of our situation at all. They were only called because the people acted out on Manager.... Oh well, moving on to next camping adventure!

Need to know, we love this place. Although we haven't been there in 2 years.
