- bgumExplorerSpent one night there two years ago just passing thru. Nice campground with sites made out of crushed limestone and rail ties. Good but not total shade. Didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment on them. You register then pick your site.
- RoyBExplorer IIWe like the WEST CANYON B LOOP I think it is. These have patio fence up around the picnic table area...
Great place to catch the fall leaves color
Camping sites on both sides of the canyon...
Lots of trails - Hugh water falls at the bottom of the canyon...
Great folks running the place....
Roy and Carolyn - garmpExplorer IIIt's been 8 yrs since we've been there, but from what I remember is was a very nice park. Can't remember any specific site as being better that another, but we are B campers and requirement/preferences are a lot different. The one thing I do recall is a sign that struck me as funny. I know it is a very serious sign, but at the time struck me as funny.

- magnusfideExplorer IIWest Canyon B loop definitely. Keep in mind that with Georgia State Parks, it's first come first served to give everyone a chance at a site.

Ruby Falls ????? You are very easy to please. If you want a cave, try Cumberland Carvers near McMinnville, TN. One of the largest caves in eastern USA and they have (?) Blue Grass music underground some times. I do not know the days or times, but it is on Public TV some times. - LamanExplorer

Actually you can make reservations at Ga. State Parks I have done it many times. They usually don't assign a particular site but will reserve space.
We were at Cloudland Canyon last fall and enjoyed it very much. Lots of hiking trails and close to the Civil War battlefield sites of Lookout Mt. and Chickamauga.
One caution is when you get to the check-in station there is almost no parking, you will have to pull off the road and hope no one backs into you. - magnusfideExplorer II

Laman, if you read further up the thread you will see we were talking about the fact that reservations one makes aren't site specific, i.e. first come first served.
We stay regularly at GSPs during our commutes between family and have even bought a Friends of the GA State Parks membership which saves us quite a bit of money. - magnusfideExplorer II

At 97 miles from Cloudland, I wouldn't exactly call McMinnville close enough for a day visit from the camp.
