Comments on Southern California RV Parks
We decided to get out of Colorado for Christmas and visit family and friends in Southern California. We stayed at two RV parks.
Newport Dunes RV Resort in Newport Beach was huge a disappointment! Many showers lacked hot water! The rest rooms had no soap in the dispensers to wash hands. The doggie poop bag dispensers were empty. The staff was less than cordial. This facility lacks management and supervision. I don't recommend using the on-line reservation system. That system seems to be out-of-sync with actual site availability. Our site was one of the least desirable and numerous superior sites sat empty for our entire stay. Maybe they don't like RVers with pets! If guests come to visit, they need a pass to get in and are charged if they park for more than one hour! Oh yeah, being under the flight path for John Wayne Airport is less than relaxing!
Mission Bay RV Resort in San Diego was terrific! Well managed and everything met our expectations. Great location and friendly staff. Great place for RVers with dogs. Lengthy walking trails along the bay and outstanding sunsets, The only negative was the lack of a convenience store in the park. Bay view sites are really on the water!
