- PawPaw_n_GramExplorerLeft San Diego on Jan 12 to head back to Dallas (no I didn't want to, but we needed to get back to our regular doctors, and one of our adult children was having serious surgery.)
San Diego, and Arizona as we crossed it was cool.
Remember - climate is what we expect. In general Arizona has a great climate for winter - and it has been trending slightly warmer over the past 10 years.
But weather is what we get and that can vary greatly from winter to winter, from week to week. Saw more rain in San Diego, Las Vegas, the California desert and western Arizona in December and January than anyone expected.
Most of our 3 weeks in San Diego were cool, foggy and rainy. We had four days out of 21 with Chamber of Commerce weather. But it never got into the 30s, seldom into the 40s. - shepstoneExplorerThanks for all the replies and weather updates, we are driving through Dallas this am and are heading west, spend a few days at Alamo Lake then probably head over to Salton sea CA and visit friends there at the fountain of youth rv park, then check out Anza Borrego State park & maybe try out some boondocking for a couple days.
- Me_AgainExplorer IIINO freezing over night so far this winter in the Phoenix East Valley. Chris
- vermilyeExplorerWell, if it is any way to judge, here at Quartzsite 'm getting 4-5 days more out of a tank of propane than i did last year. Two years before that was one of the warmest winters for the area...
- rocmocExplorerLive just South of Tucson and weather has been colder and wetter. Currently in Lake Havasu, AZ and locals say and IMHO weather is cooler thu Q is cooler. Could not launch at the Balloon Fest this morning because of the poor weather. Plus can't remember the last time Quartzsite had flash floods like they have had this winter.
rocmoc n AZ - KlueckExplorerConsider getting a good weather app. We use Weatherbug. I put in different cities where I'm interested in their weather. It shows it all and you can decide for yourself.
- The_TexanExplorerYes, the Yuma, Quartzsite, Parker corridor has been both cooler and wetter than normal. We have had to use heat most mornings since we got here in November.
- BarbaraOKExplorerHas been a little rainier than last winter so far, but I don't think any colder. When it is damp, you notice the cooler weather more.
- Nutinelse2doExplorerWe are in Laughlin, and yes, it has been colder than normal. Forecast says warming up next week.
Supposed to rain tomorrow, and be windy over the weekend. - Desert_CaptainExplorer IIIWe are near Tucson and it has been a very mild, as in warmer than usual, winter. Most of our lows have been in the mid to upper 40's and the days are often in the low 70's. Not much rain though some is predicted for this weekend.
We too will be in Quartzsite for the big RV show but the extended forecast doesn't reach quite that far out.... yet.
