- crassterExplorer IIGo on tripadvisor and have a blast. There is excellent seafood in both towns. The beaches are not perfect (just Texas beaches) but it is a very very fun area to visit.

I'm sure that regular travelers to the area can give you much more.
Not really. It's pretty much been covered. There's isn't much to actually "do" there unless you like fishing or birding or wind sports.georgem2106 wrote:
We were in Snoopy's just last week with two other couples. Out of six people no one will be back. If you like having to order at a counter, food on styrofoam plates with plastic utensils, and over priced food then Snoopy's is the place for you.
A much better place for about the same money is Catfish Charlie's. We've been there twice and would return.
Actually, I do like ordering at the counter and I'd prefer not eating on styrofoam with plastic utensils because I try to be more green than that, but I think it matches the ambiance of Snoopy's.
I like Catfish Charlie's, but sometimes want to just hang around outside in some shorts thrown over a bathing suit, and salty hair.
As for the food, it's a lot of fried fish at both places. Nothing terribly special. - georgem2106ExplorerWe were in Snoopy's just last week with two other couples. - iagaryExplorerI think the free ferry that crosses the ship channel on your way to Port Aransas is a fun deal. Usually see dolphins. Also a restaurant called the Big Fisherman off the road from Aransas Pass to Rockport is good fish/seafood (mostly fried). Rockport/Fulton is a nice area to visit for quaint shops and restaurants as well.
- padredwNomadIt doesn't seem to be on your highway route, but the stop that came to mind is Natchitoches, LA and visits to the plantations as well as the downtown itself.

. Just south of Alexandria is Marksville, LA. The Paragon Casino is there with a very nice campground. Might be a good place to overnight. Then take I49 south to I10. Have a sfe trip.
So, from Little Rock, I'll be taking 167 south to 165 at Alexandra, La then on to Lake Charles, La on I-10. Any recommended campgrounds or things to see our our slow trip to Corpus especially in La?
Thanks! - Kit_CarsonExplorer

As for food, I'm surprised no one mentioned What-A-Burger.
The kids make us stop when we land in San Antonio.
Heck, even I'll eat a #1 w/ cheese, ketchup and mayo... :) - Brent_and_GinaExplorerHeading out towards Corpus in two weeks! Any help on the route down for good stops?
