CT to Knoebel's, PA- Need recommend. for campgrounds etc.

We're traveling from CT and planning to go to Knoebel's, PA. I don't want to camp around that area, as there's nothing else to do. We stayed at JD campground and the pool wasn't always opened it seemed. We have kids 15, 13 and 11yrs old. Need a pool. Would love to be able to use or rent kayaks. Is there any recommended campground with nice facilities or other attractions/tours up to 2hrs. away? Thanks!
  • Thank you for your suggestions! I will look into them.
  • Locust Lake State Park has a nice lake with beach and you can rent canoes and pedal boats. They have electric hookups, showers etc. There is a paved trail around the lake where the kids can ride their bikes.About an hour from Knobels.
  • In the "other attractions" category, you might be interested in the Little League hall of fame/museum. If you happen to be around when the Little League World Series is going on, it might even be worth battling the traffic etc. to catch that for a day; it looks like a fantastically fun thing to see in person from what I can tell, and the price is unbeatable (beyond the obvious annoyances of getting there simultaneously with a small city of other people).
  • How about Knoebel's Amusement Resort. You will have access to park pool along with rides and you can choose what you want to pay for without having to pay for everything. We went last year, had a blast and we are planing on leaving again next weekend! :C
