- NCBrianTTExplorerWe had a wonderful time there 2-3 weeks ago even through the non-event of Ana. The dune was still about 8ft tall but they have a diagonal path cut into it to allow easier access to the beach. It looked like the KOA next door had the same type of path for beach access.
Happy Travels - SkylarkExplorerAnyone been camping there in the last few weeks? Any updates? Thanks
- scouts1usExplorerWe stay at the KOA nearby every year and they have modified their beach access several times in response to storms. Always accessable via boardwalk and steps. Waves campground is much more of a lower cost camping option(a good one!). Hopefully they will address the access issue....

Thanks Rvtogo, any more experience
When I talked with the office, I was wanting to know if it was handicap accessible to the beach. She said NO.....She then went on to say that there was a 90 space parking area nearby with access to the beach that may be handicap accessible. I could never find any details on the parking area.
If you go, could you post any details on the parking area. - SkylarkExplorerThanks Rvtogo, any more experience
- rv2goExplorer IIWhen I last spoke with someone in the office, She stated that they were not allow by the state to make any altercations to the dunes. You just have to climb down and up
