Since Fort Wilderness is booked up around Christmas of 2013, I am trying to find a place to stay with my 42' coach. Does anyone know of a nice resort very close to Disney World ? Needs to be able to accept small dogs and the grand baby of course. Thanks all.

If you're a Thousand Trails member, the Clermont location is decent.

As a suggestion, making an alternate reservation would be a smart thing to do but don't give up on Fort Wilderness if that's where you really want to go. We tried to make reservations many months out as well and was booked up but kept trying on the phone and sure enough about (3) weeks away and just when we called, they had a cancellation so we managed to book it for a weeks stay with an excellent site as well.

Another thing about Tropical Palms. If you like car shows they have one almost every Friday night at Old Town. Grandson and I walked form the CG to see all the great cars and the theme park. That's how close it is.

X2 for tropical palms. Been there 2 times in the past 3 months. Both times were enjoyable and it is the same exit as the magic kingdom. You can also walk to old town if you wanted to.

I don't know how close you want to get but if 10-12 miles is not too far then check out Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, Fl. Nice place, sites are pretty much open. Some small trees and very quiet. Great area for Golf and not too far to Disney.

X2 on Lake Magic. 10 minutes to Disney gate. Great restaurants and shopping close by. Two pools and clean showers. We spent the winter there and will be back in November.

We've stayed at Tropical Palms in Kissimmee last couple of times after staying at FW for years. It's a short drive up the interstate to all the major parks. We always take our grandson and our Pug.
