Dry camping on the way from page to Las Vegas

Hi guys

We are looking for spots to dry camp on our way back to Las Vegas. We are hooked to this type of camping after a ‘scary’ night. Near Bryce Canyon.

We went off-road near highway 12? Before Bryce. As we saw the possibilities to try this camping in a spot away from others, and there were fire rings and shade, and sun.

There were also an American couple from Hatch, who camped out there. We talked to them, and they said is appeared to be safe.

We had no problems at all, all though it was a first scary night, with unfamiliar sounds. There were cows walking around.

The Hatch couple Drive by the next morning and wished us a great journey. That’s awesome.

Another great argument for dry camping is, that our children are not arguing, whether they should go to the pool or beach!! They just stick together and play with each other.

Now we would like to spend the next days in some forrest or what else there is on the way from page to LA.

We are in a C 25 and we have absolutely no cash in the vehicle.

Between Page and Las Vegas, you'll be going right past Jacob lake and the road into North Rim Grand Canyon. Terrific dispersed camping available a few short miles north of the park entrance. And at 8-9k feet, it will be plenty cool.

If you're actually headed to Los Angeles, the last higher elevation dispersed camping you will see is around Williams AZ. Temps should be reasonable there, around 6-7k feet elevation. But I hope you're taking the northern route.

Your title says Las Vegas but in your text you say LA. Makes a difference as to recommendations!

With the exception of the Kaibab forest or on top of cedar mtn, there is nowhere cool along that route.

Just south of St George is Black Rock Rd (just after you cross back into Arizona.

For a few bucks you can stay in the CG in the Virgin River Gorge.

You can park in the casino Casa Blanca on the west side of town.

Another is the truck stop at the Valley of Fire turnoff.

If you turn off on 64 and go through the Grand Canyon Park and exit out the south gate, you will find national forest land with dry camping just outside the gate.
