Eby`s Pines was OK. we were there about a month ago. nothing special kind of a let down from what other people explained. the pool was nice, but cold! that`s about it really. the FHU pull throughs were dirt and slanted downhill at an angle. and I had to disconnect the X because it would stick out into the road, otherwise the sewer connection would have been to far away to hook up. I`m sure there is better in the area.

We stayed at Elkhart RV park, it is an old KOA park. It was clean, they have full hook ups as well as not. We had a shady area. The laundry and bathroom showers were clean. The pool was clean too. I think they had a playground for the kids and a couple of other outdoor things. It was near the turnpike but was quiet.

When driving thru Elkhart, look around for fiberglass Elks that are painted in different colors, etc. If traveling with kids, they will like looking for things.

It was a good central location to go to the RV museum, South Bend, Goshen, and the other small towns around there. There was a Amish museum/resturant, etc. where you can get good cheese, etc.

Hope the weather is cooperative when you are there. We were there the last week of June and about the time we were ready to go explore museums, etc. around 10 am, we had a thunderstorm that didn't want to stop.

We stayed at Ebys several years ago in July. It was VERY dusty due to the dirt/gravel roads between sites. The full hook up area is small, up a hill, and away from the pool area (perfect if you don't have kids). There are sites around the lake but they aren't that nice of spots. We stayed under the pines to the east of the pool.
The pool was nice but cold. For my money, I would rather stay at Twin Mills, also in the Shipshewana area.

Just this weekend we saw some friends with a 9 year old daughter that camped there within the past couple of weeks. They told me they really enjoyed their stay.

Has been there more than 40 years that I'm aware of. We camped there when I was a kid. Haven't been there for many years, but it gets good reviews. Its been discussed here before, so a search might turn up some recent information.
