I plan on writing to Governor Hogan as this does not make sense as this is a money making park for Maryland.
Are you sure it's a money making park in the winter months?
Well let's think about this. Access to the park by transients from I-95 as there are no other options in this area with full hookups. Locals that camp in the winter months. In addition, they have to keep the infrastructure of the sewer and water going as this is shared with the NORTH BAY Adventure Camp a State Park facility utilized by the state school system. I do understand that anything that can offset Overhead, capital and fixed costs is a win. No income means someone has to pay these costs, that means taxpayer with no offsets.
I question whether it is a money making park in the winter as well.
Why can't the CG water be drained and winterized?
While I agree Elk Neck is a great park. If it is not self sufficient in the winter months I'm not opposed to closing it for the savings during the winter months.
