  • Hi there Joe, Well we made the trip and stayed at Fishermans Corner May 26-30.
Nice campground and yes the sites 1-26 or something like that gives the better view of the river.
We were in site #37 and it was close to the hyway but it was not an issue unless you need total quiet! Sites have cement pads and basically level. We ended up in a tight spot with our neighbor but neither of us was interested in a camp fire.
Park is friendly and clean restrooms!
Don't expect much television, we got 2 channels over the air and the Dish tailgator couldn't find a signal! It is possible to get a signal in various spots in the park but it is reasonable well shaded!
I told my wife on Sunday while we just chilled out and rested for our Monday trip home that if I was to rate the park on a scale of 1-10 and 10 being best, I would give it somewhere between a 4 and 6! I would recommend this park however as it is close to some venues that are worth checking out. Don't be too excited by the American Pickers Museum. I love antiques and so does the wife but it was not what she expected and we were told that this would be the reaction but I closed my ears to other personal reviews and went to it and enjoyed the walk thru the museum. We found the Buffalo Bill museum worth the 5.00 per person.
A little research and you can find plenty of day trips if you want to sight see from the Park! Railroad tracks are close but I observed only 1 train going and 1 returning the next day and no long loud whistles!
  • We have reservations for there on May 26th - 30th. If I remember ,I will give you a personal review!
  • It 's our favorite spot for local (60 miles) camping which we don't do much of. It's right on the river with a great view (some sites) of the **** and barges and is right on a very long bike path. Any restaurant or store you want with-in the Quad Cities. We just stayed in site # 8. There are 2 loops. Most of the sites in the loop with # 8 have a river view but none in the other loop. All are paved and level. Electric hook-up but not water. A caution that it is very popular and busy with seniors and now most sites are reserveable. There isn't much to do within the campground; that is, no hiking or similiar activities.
  • Fisherman's Corner is a great little C.O.E. campground. We camp there for several days twice a year, on our way out west and on our way back.

The loop to the left of the check-in station has the only sites with a chance of getting some view of the river. Also, the nicest loop, at least we think so. Be sure to make reservations. That loop used to be first come, first serve. Not any more.

There is a nice restraint in Rapids City about 4 miles north of Fishermans Corner on Rt 84, "My Brothers Place".
  • It's been awhile but all of the sites have a view of the river. Sites 26 - 51 are more open; the others are deeply wooded.
And take your bikes as the CG is right next to a paved bike trail.
