Flagstaff,Arizona KOA. SNOW & WIND

We've been here for awhile. Last 3 days were rain off & on. Last night & all of today its been serious snow. Some gusting winds also. I-40 is slippery & windy. Beautiful here in the nations largest Ponderosa pine forest & mountains. Hope to head back to Miami, Fl. early next week if not snow bound. lol
  • Spent Saturday,Sunday, and Monday in Williams Az. Visited Williams, the Grand Canyon, and Bearizona. Weather was at best just passable. We were scheduled to stay one more day but bailed early and headed over to Bullhead City to avoid the snow. The high winds made for an interesting drive..
  • years ago we went to Az from Pa in April. 3rd night in Amarillo Texas it was 90. Next night in Gallup,NM it was 15 and snowing. Next night in Williams,AZ it was 33 with 6" of snow on the ground. Then it warmed up.

We used to make runs up that way many times back in the 70s with a bunch JEEP guys pulling utility trailers tent camping... We would keep a camp fire going all night to warm up the camp site.

Always enjoyed that back then. Them were the best days...

This is a google photo showing about what we looked like back off the trails somewhat in the snow

Maybe it will be cooled down here by the time you get back-- record high temps the last couple of days
