flagstaff

Hi, we're seniors looking to spend the summer months in Flagstaff. We don't need amenities like pools and the like and are fine with the basics. Our priorities are safety, low rates and pet friendly. Thanks for any help you can give us.
  • Don't know of any campgrounds in that area - but make sure you pick a cool day and visit Walnut Canyon ... it's a pretty good hike to the bottom and back up, but plenty to see on the rim trails too.

theres not much around Flagstaff proper that I would stay at except maybe J & H RV Park. Williams has a couple that are not to bad. Check RV Park Reviews for the area.

  • If a very nice campground, no hookups but flush toilets, showers, and a dump station fit your needs you would be hard pressed to do better than Pine Grove. It is about a dozen miles southeast of Flagstaff off of Lake Mary Road. Not expensive and as I recall a Geezsr card cuts the fees in half. Located at about 8.400' It is open and gorgeous May through September and stays fairly full so reservations are a must.

We spent another week there last August enjoying the afternoon monsoon thunderstorms and exploring the area. We rode {on my Harley} up to Snowbowl, out to the Grand Canyon {south rim}, back out to Williams and even took a ride east to the Meteor Crater. Camp Verde, Cottonwood, Jerome, Prescott and of course Sedona make for nice day trips as well.

Just leave the power cord in storage and enjoy some of the most beautiful mountains to found anywhere.

  • Fort Tuthill reservations link I have stayed at the military side of Fort Tuthill but not the civilian side. Fort Tuthill and Homilovi state park near Winslow are both basic county and state campgrounds. Tuthill is in the tall pines and Homilovi is in the dry, high, desert.
  • This past August we stayed at the J&H RV Park and enjoyed it. They have a pot luck every week. When we were there it got rained out, but it looked like fun. It's not a big park, but a really nice clean place. They have dog walking, which was nice as we couldn't take ours with us in August to Phoenix. Ouch! There is a dog bath area too. We would stay there again. They were very friendly too.

X2. This is the nicest campground in the area. If we don't stay at J&H we stay at The Depot in Williams.
