Florida Campgrounds?

Topsail Hill S.P. (Destin)
- Water, electricity, sewer & cable TV
- We manicured, private sites
- CG is 1/2 mile or so from the beach (can ride tram or bikes to beach)
- Near Destin (access to restaurants, shopping, etc.)

Fort Pickens (Pensacola)
- Water & electricity (no sewer on sites, but there is a dump station)
- CG is really close to beach (especially Loop A which is a pretty short walk)
- More remote than Topsail
- Road to Fort Pickens is subject to flooding (we got evacuated last year)

Both are really nice campgrounds. We enjoy going to both of them.

x2 on sun and fun in sarasota. There is plenty to do all the time there. We spent the month of jan last year and we loved it. The park is huge and has it all. Rock crushers is a fine choice also. paul

Located between Tampa and Ft. Myers. In a rural setting, but near many restaurants, activities, etc. This park is usually booked solid by July 1st, but they are adding 160 new sites.

Camp Gulf in Destin is one of our favorite places to stay. It is located ON the Gulf of Mexico. There are some concrete/paver sites and some are hard sand. If you have no pets, you can stay in the beach site area. We like the 3rd row back since it is elevated and we can see the beach over the top of RVs in front of us. There are 2 pools, a hot tub, clean laundry room and activities depending the time of year. One of the pools is enclosed during the winter. It is pricey but is the only place in the Destin area we know of that is right on the beach.

Gulf Waters near Ft Myers. Top notch.

We really enjoyed Topsail Hill state park and Gulf State park in gulf shores Alabama.

Over in Navarre there are a couple of really nice places right on Santa Rosa Sound with what you're looking for. Also right on the beach. We stay there often.

Check out this resort. Just what your looking for in a RV resort. About 35 miles from Crystal River and Homosassa, twenty miles from Gainesville.

Sun N' Fun is another option, located in Sarasota on Fruitville Rd. about 1.5 miles east of I-75 exit 210, and about 7.5 miles east of the Gulf. Download their "Lifestyles" page. If you can't find something you like, you simply can't be entertained.
