The photo is of Silver Glen Spgs( no camping) 9 miles south of Salt Spgs. Both are incredibly beautiful places to swim and snorkel. - 2012ColemanExplorer II

- garmpExplorer IIfla-gypsy, what's the ONF? Something National Forrest?
- fla-gypsyExplorerThe real Florida can be found at any of the FSP beach parks with camping facilities along with a very nice NFS CG in the ONF and Stephen Foster SP along the Suwannee river. In fact there are very few of the 65 (out of 150+) FSP's I have visited that didn't rate for a return trip.
- McamperExplorerI am getting a lot of good information here, and I thank everyone that has shared with me. I see several places that I will look into.
Keep the suggestions coming.
Thanks!

It's right across the road from the beach. It's $26 a ($13 if you have the Senior card) with water and electric. - magnusfideExplorer IIAnother interesting spot farther south on US 98 is the area around Dade City north of Tampa. If you take SR 52 west out of Dade City you will come upon St. Leo Abbey and University with its historic church surrounded by orange groves. You're allowed to go inside and if you time it just right, the monks will be singing their prayers in chant. An especially nice time to go is when the orange trees are in blossom in late winter, early spring.
Just west of the abbey is the tiny town of San Antonio with its historic square and moss draped live oaks: it's like stepping back in time to old Florida. - Aadkins101ExplorerWe stayed at Carrabelle Beach RV Resort 2 years ago in February - we loved it there. It was clean, friendly (staff & campers), and right across the road from a dog friendly beach with beautiful white sand.
Check it out.
