Flying a non-USA flag alone in the US. Disrespecful?

I wouldn't get too bent out of shape about it. The same thing happens in other countries with flags all the time, too. Sure, it'd be nice if all were to fly flags in the way you suggest, but they don't.

They can be proud of their country just as we are proud of ours. I don't think they are trying to be disrespectful. One of the great things about the US, is the freedom of expression. I also love how Texans show there pride in their state by flying the state flag. You just see them everywhere. This is rarely seen in our home state.

Iam with you, used to drive me crazy years ago driving through my home town seeing all the Portuguese flags on cars and houses with no american flag. Especially those whom are collecting some of the many assistance "handouts" this wonderful country offers.
My parents legally migrated from Portugal before I was born. They are proud of their heritage, but have always flown the Red white and blue in the front yard.

It doesn't bother me to see flags from different countries flown in the US. It just tells me we are a big melting pot of multi nationalities that (for the most part) can all tollerate one another.

I think it is disrespectful. Nothing wrong with flying your own flag, but you need to acknowledge that you are a guest in the country and that you respect the people and laws of the United States. You do this by flying their flag in a superior position and never in a smaller size. I am proud to be a Canadian, but when I fly the Canadian flag, I always fly the Stars and Stripes with it. And I expect others to do the same when they visit Canada.

Every time I see that, I think of the shrapnel in my leg and remember I fought for the USA NOT some foreign country. I know many Vets that would go out of their way to tell the person what the correct flag etiquette is and I hope you do also.

I agree that our flag should be flown as well.

It is absolutely disrespectful, the country you are visiting should always be front and centre. A new trend I see this year is US and Canadian flag as one flag end to end. This in my opinion is a travistity to both countries flags.

I find the confederate flag disrespectful, but people fly it alone all the time.
