We went down there every summer for four years when the kids were small. You're staying on-property, so you can take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours.
Be there when the park opens, and stay there until noon. Then head back to Ft. Wilderness to swim or relax in the A/C of your RV. Go back around 4 or 5, and stay until the park closes (and don't forget the fireworks).
Another option, which we also took advantage of, is to go to one of the other resorts on property and spend the hot part of the day at the water parks of the resorts.
