We are planning to go to the hill county in early November for several days with our toy hauler and Harley. Any recommendations on a nice camp ground with full hookups?

We have stayed at Fredericksburg RV Park and Quiet Creek RV Resort and enjoyed them both.

It's been a while but we liked Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park in Fredericksburg. I gathered enough pecans for a couple of pies there. It's hard to go wrong in the Texas Hill Country.

We hated Ladybird . We felt packed in like sardines.

I liked the kerrville park. Lots of wildlife and a good hiking trail.

I recommend Kerrville Schreiner Park. I have camped there over 45 times in the last five years. It is a great place to use as a home base for exploring the area. Several people have asked me what I like about it. I started making a list of the things I like to do in and around the Kerrville area. Things to do near Kerrville Schreiner Park.

I'll second Buckhorn. A really nice campground.

Yes it is a nice park with free Wi-Fi. Problem is free means nothing works. Both times we have stopped for a 4 night stay.

We always stay at the Fredericksburg KOA. We are not in any way partial to KOAs generally, but this is one we like.

We stayed at the Guadalupe River RV Resort for a month and it was OK. Internet bad.

It's changed to a Jellystone park so probably not geared to snowbirds and bikers.

I'll check out some of the suggestions as we plan to spend another month in the area on our way back from AZ March / April.

Some of the friends we made there moved to Old River Road RV Resort and like it there but it's by the airport and that might be annoying.

In Kerrville we also liked Schreiner park. Not a traditional RV park. Former state park, now city park with lots of room. And deer come grazing thru the sites. We prefer the hill side, over the river side. Guadalupe RV Resort is also a nice, but higher priced park, on the Guadalupe River.

Fredericksburg KOA (3 miles east), Fredericksburg RV Park (right in town), and Lady Bird Park (about 2 miles south) all get good reviews.

Oakwood in Fredericksburg was alright when we were there. We have friends that return to Lady Bird every year.
