Ft Desoto

I stayed there last year and had a great time. We were on an interior pull through site that was huge, but I was jealous of the people on the water. We are looking at going back but I can't remember which waterfront sites are best. I know a lot of them have a seawall, and some are fairly blocked by the mangroves? For those of you who have stayed do you have any waterfront site recommendations that are open to the water?
  • Here is my map. I only graded the sites in the one section that we use. 4 & 5 rating are best. Last year we stayed on 216 and this year we are on 218.

  • The Campground Map linked by Tachdriver should help. Note the mangroves, they do block the water view a bit, some sites more than others. Still, any site at Fort DeSoto is a pretty good deal.
  • I think I remember 215-216 being pretty good as we stayed in 171 last year which is right across from them. I know there are a couple on the 200 side heading back toward the bend that are nice I just didn't write down the site numbers when I was there. I was too busy having fun!!
  • I am in Japan on business trip right now but PM as a reminder. I have a map that I graded the sites and I can share that with you when I get home next week. We were on 216 last year and it was great
