Ft Worth Stockyards RV park

Any experience with Ft Worth Texas RV park in the historic stockyards area? I know it's 21 sites, rustic, elec/water only. We're planning a night in that area.
  • I have not been to the FW Stockyards in a couple years. The only 'RV' parking I have seen is just some pedestals in a parking lot behind the animal pens. The only rigs I've seen there were the combo units folks who travel with horses use.

The location is great for visiting the Stockyards, you avoid the long drive across a busy city to other RV parks on the outskirts. However, I'd be concerned about leaving an RV unattended in that area. If I was going to be close, fine. But not if I was going visit some other parts of Fort Worth.

Just my 3 1/2 cents, I could be completely wrong.

  • COE parks in Texas have been hit hard by flooding and recent rains. Holiday is open, but some sites are closed.

We got notified this week that our site on Lake Whitney for next week has been flooded and the reservation cancelled.

Hickory Creek on Lake Lewisville just announced the CG will not be open in - April, projected opening now May 1.

The Vineyards in Grapevine - city leased COE park - is still underwater due to high lake levels on Lake Grapevine.

Be sure to check on your favorite park on COE lakes before heading to the campground.

Great tip, thank you. We're here now and took a ride through after setting up. Maybe there's some closed areas, but we honestly didn't see any.

Probably the other rv site,Bear Creek, may be flooded but its not open winter months anyway.
