getting weather forecasts while in Yosemite?

I'm looking forward to a week at Bridalveil Creek CG in Yosemite this July. 7200 feet elevation, I believe. I have heard that summer thunderstorms can come up often in the mountains, and weather in general is something I would want to keep tabs on. How can I get accurate weather forecasts specifically for Yosemite while I'm there? Does the NPS make a radio broadcast at all, and if so, will it reach to Bridalveil CG? Or is there a radio station in that part of CA that gives Yosemite-specific weather info?

I will have a ATT based cell phone with me, but from what I have read I don't expect any reception up on the mountain. I guess if I drive to the valley, if no radio I could access internet to find a forecast.... but I don't really want to drive down there every day.

Any pertinent info is welcome.
  • Just stop at any ranger booth or visitor center and the weather is always posted.
  • Profdant, thanks. I actually do have a shortwave radio (it's been so long since I've used it, probably 15 years, I forget about it) and will have to put it in the trailer so I don't forget it.
  • If you have a national weather service shortwave receiver, you can get real-time info from NOAA -- I am sure we were able to pick up the broadcast at Upper Pines CG in Yosemite.
  • I just left Yosemite a few days ago. I have ATT. Pretty much, throughout, I had one bar, more bars if I were close to the Village, ranger stations or other more populated places. I never felt out of touch with the real world for large segments of time. I read somewhere that they are putting in more towers this summer (somewhere) that will make phone reception even better.
  • The ranger shack at the entrance to the campgrounds often have a whiteboard on the outside with the weather forecast on it.
