Gettysburg

Planning a trip from Colorado to Gettysburg 1st couple of weeks in May. Researching RV parks and State parks found several... any recommendations? We don't have children, therefore not necessary to have pools, playgrounds, etc...not against them just don't need them. We do however like State Parks.........Thank you in advance...Rich
  • We used "Artillery Ridge" campground, was a great place, but for sure take the bus tour, very informative, then retrace the route in your car. and take your time.

So much to see and understand.
  • Gettysburg Campground is nice and close to the battlefields. It is situated on a nice creek that horeshoe's around the back of the park.

We are going to Drummer Boy in April. We are camping with a friend who thinks its the nicest one in Gettysburg, I've not yet been.
  • We like Pine Grove Furnace State Park.It has electric hookups with new bath houses. They have 2 lakes with swimming beaches. They have a small visitor center with displays and it's the half way point on the Appalachian Trail. They have a small camp store where they sell camp supplies and ice cream.Caledonia State park is closer to Gettysburg but in my opinion, the campground with electric hookups isn't as nice as Pine Grove.
  • We will be at Drummer Boy in two weeks for the first time. It gets pretty good reviews on RVParkreviews.com
