GRAND CANYON PLACES TO STAY

We are planning a mid September trip to the south rim of the Grand Canyon and am looking for suggestions as to where to stay. We have a 37' class A and would like full hookups as we plan on staying 3 - 4 nights
  • Adding my 'amen' to Trailer Village. Big sites, although the wildlife had been munching on a lot of it the last time we were there. Pretty boring country getting there but the scenery there is worth the trip.
A quick story. We watched a storm developing across the canyon and blowing toward us. We were walking and had stopped to take a break in one of the several shelters around the area. Wind gets strong and then stronger, blowing toward us. I walk over to see the progress and get pelted by sand and small gravel. Talked to one of the folks at the park and said it was not unusual to have debris like that blown up out of the canyon as the wind hits the wall and pushes up. Pretty cool!! Shower only lasted a few minutes and cooled things off some
  • Was there this past October, glorious time of the year to be there, September-October. Agree with the others, Trailer Village is the place to be for FHU sites. Shuttle is right at the entrance, runs every 10-15 minutes, is convenient to everything you would want to see and do at the South Rim.
  • Yup, Trailer Village for sure. We will be back there AGAIN in Sept.

    Agree 100%

    x2 Sites are huge

  • Trailer Village inside the park itself is the very best place to stay. The shuttle stops right there and you can walk to the Rim.
  • That's easy. Just search for Grand Canyon in the RV Parks section.
