- bobsallyhExplorer IIWe don't use it, but most stores including Wally are doing it. But someone out here in the Foothills got groceries delivered to them from Wally, but they were to be delivered to someone else yesterday. Also you can use pick-up at Wally and Fry's. Fry's uses a subcontractor to deliver as I believe also Wally does.
- Ed_GeeExplorer IIPickup works really well at our Kroger store. Special parking spots ... call when you arrive and they bring out the groceries you ordered on their website and put them in your car for you. No need to even get close to employee.... ( who wears a mask anyway). Delivery can be problematic in some areas so we don't do that.
- LwiddisExplorer IIGrocery shopping in the very early morning is my one indulgence..masked and gloved.
- ItsyRVExplorerDelivery can always be an issue if the contractor has many drop offs and you're the last one on the route.
I preferer the Kroger store pickup. If you have their card, all coupons, discounts and cash incentives apply to your pickup order. I like the notice for out of stock and the offer of picking a substitution. At some stores, the double length parking slot makes picking up with your RV doable. I am a bit leery of their shoppers ability to pick the best produce and have clearly had them just grab what was on top of the pile.
Not to mention, the fuel points are tacked on right away so while one is putting away the groceries, the other can be pumping your up to $1 off per gallon in the RV. Heck, saving $35 at the pump is nothing to sneeze at. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIHummmmmm
Young grocery picker goes thru store grabbing items from your shopping list then bags them up....some other guy delivers them
I'm sure they both, three, four individuals involved took every precaution
No thanks!
I do my own shopping, picking the items I choose and take reasonable precautions - midnightsadieExplorer IIx2 think about how guys handled your stuff before it got to your door.
- silversandExplorer.....we love NOT going into grocery stores, and haven't since mid March. Forget that we are saving 2 hours a week, and not to mention avoiding a public place that has maybe ~4000 people in the store over any 24 hour period...
...think about it: going into the store: some shelf jockey has to stock the shelves; at check-out, the revolving cashiers touch every item in your basket....spinning it round and round in their hands to position the bar-code scan azimuth/zenith.
I vote for sending my order to the store by Internet, and picking it up at the special grocery store parking area for pick-up....safely outside the store. Who knows how many individuals "touched" your food whether you go in-store, or not ;) - BarbaraOKExplorer

I'm now on a first name basis with the fellow at the Safeway near us, he does the picking for me, I'm always there very early to pick up, he is careful about substitutions, etc. We were stranded here all summer because of health reasons and only about 4 times I have ventured in a store, usually to get just something that only they carry (FODY products at Sprouts). I alternate between Frys (Kroger) and Safeway and find that it works for us. When I get home, I wipe down containers, etc., before storing them. And doing it this way our food costs have gone down because there is no 'impulse' purchases on my part. Plus during the pandemic, neither store is charging a surcharge for pickup like they were before the lockdowns. - almccExplorerOne other option that we used in the Yuma foothills a few years ago was that company that drives around the area with a frozen food truck, forgotten the name, but we have a similar store service in Canada M&M's, it reduces the interaction with people and the food is good.
- moishehExplorerThat would be Schwan's. Expensive but really good.
