Has Fairystone State Park (VA) Campground Been Updated?

Hello, friends,

My wife and I used to visit Fairystone State Park campground when our kids were young and we were in a pop-up camper. It is a neat state park, but the campground was cramped with mostly very small spaces. Just out of curiosity, we were looking at the campground on ReserveAmerica, and all of the sites are listed as accommodating a 30' rig. That is definitely NOT the way we remember that campground, and in fact we rode through there just a few years ago to make sure it was as small as we remembered, and it had not changed as of then.

Does anyone know if the state has updated this campground in the last few years?

Many thanks,
Regan
  • Haven't stayed there since we won't fit.

CampSitePhotos had some site pics: FairyStone

Wish that web site would include info on when (what year) photos were taken.

EDIT: Fairystone is not that far from a couple nice CoE campgrounds.
  • The last time we were there, the campground was still small. We always stayed in a cabin or a tent since our 5th wheel is too large. Love Fairystone State Park and the legend of the fairy stones. We have had one in our truck for years.
  • We stayed there in 2010 when we had a 29' TT. Was small then and I certainly would not fit in many spots. We have a 36' TT now and would not consider booking there.
