Weather in Pensacola Fla in Nov? Then on Dec 1st heading to Tucson Az.
Any advice, This is all new to my wife and I. Would like to travel with
some company. Thanks JP
  • I10 from Fla to Tucson is an easy pull except thu Houston. Many great rest areas for quick overnight stays. You can & will run into storms but nothing major (most of the time). There are Casinos & great campgrounds along the way. Texas has great rest areas, as good as a campground. Winds can be a bit of a problem from West Texas to AZ border. Fuel gets cheaper the further you get away from the East Coast. Have fun!

  • I used to go to the Gulf Coast (Mississippi, Louisiana) in November and December, the weather tends to be cool to warm, 50s for lows, 60s to low 70s for highs, and it can be rainy. This is also the time of year the Arctic air masses can push Tornado Alley down into the southeastern states.

Those are averages. Lows can go below freezing in November, highs can go into the 80s. That would be in the "records" range, I don't know about frequency, haven't been there to encounter those temperatures at that time of year.
  • JP: I see that your home base in Ohio is not far from us. The best advice for you that I can give is to be flexible with your departure date from up north. Depending on your route south to Florida, the possibility exists you can run into stormy weather. So, give yourself a range of departure days so you can leave when the weather is most suitable, especially if your planned route takes you over any mountains. Bob

Wow! You've shown me something new and very useful! Thanks!!
  • Boy, I just tried 'Weatherbase' for June and specified not over 85 deg. It gave me cities that we've traveled to and even lived which we know stay over 85 deg and even start earlier than June. I sure wouldn't rely on it.
  • We've traveled from Florida to Tucson many times. Easy drive if you don't go through Houston on rush hour. We enjoy Tucson winter weather much more than Florida. We don't do water sports or boating though. You might like San Diego if you love to be by water, but that will be pricey.
  • We had a change of plans, We are going straight to Tucson Az.Leaving the 1st of Nov staying 2 months in Tucson then on up to Phoenix for a month or 2 then on to Monrovia Cal.Really looking forward to this. We worked all our lives for this. We are looking forward to meeting and making new friends. JP
  • You're welcome Brynjolf. I like weatherbase. 2gypsies they are average temps not meant to be a final, just something to base off of not gospel.I don't know of any weather forecaster that can be 100%! ;)
