Finally tried to make reservations at Hershey Highmeadow for the RV show and they are booked. Anybody have reccomendations for another campground close to the show? Thanks.
We go to Twin Grove, it's a nice campground. I've never been to Lickdale but, I'm told it is nice. Lickdale is a little closer to Hershey. They're about 22 miles from the Hershey RV Show.
Twin Grove is a good place to stay,, but do not get a site off to the right when you first pull in. Get a spot straight in the very back. The sights off to the right has zero shade... we were there last year and cooked....
The Elizabethtown KOA is about 10 min out of Hershey, if proximity is your biggest concern. I drive by it frequently but have never stayed there so I can't speak to its condition. I agree with the others Twin Grove is quite nice but your looking at a 30-35 min drive from Hershey. Another option is the Thousand Trails Hershey which is pretty nice. Its about 15 min from Hershey.
Depending on how long and the reason you are there, you can stay right on the grounds - dry camping - it was $25/night a couple years back when we did it. Worked for us, since we just wanted to spend a day at the show. One note - if the wind is right, there is a very, shall we say, distinct smell, that I would guess originates from some type of wastewater treatment facility in the area! ST
We went to the show last year and stayed in the Thousan Trails Hershey park which is only about 10-15 minutes away from the park. It was a nice park and believe it or not, was not that busy during that timeframe. We plan to stay again this year.
