- caysea7254ExplorerThanks everyone for your suggestions. It sounds like a nice place for an extended weekend.
- RockyRoadCamperExplorerWonderful rv campground. One of the tops within a 1000 miles.
Several other Corps of Engineer cg in the area and they are all good. - PegLWExplorerThere are sites at Hillman that overlook the lake and you're close walking distance. There are two small sites almost on the shore but...they are mostly for very small units. We had a 27' TT when we were there 3 years ago and barely fit in one of those two sites (#60, section A). It was a very tricky backing up job to get in there too. In the campground area where larger units fit sites are all very close together. We weren't particularly impressed with Hillman but to each his own.
- sdianel_-acct_cExplorerCanal KY Corps of Engineers Campground on Barkley Lake has some lakefront sites. Unfortunately you will have to look at each listing on www.recreation.gov to read the detail at the bottom that says Shoreline site Y or N, to find out which ones are lakefront unless you call the park directly. Also beware that some sites are heavily wooded and difficult to maneuver and not suitable for slideouts. Check the length and slide suitability on their site before you book. There is also a new section that has full hookups and not as many trees so you can get satellite.
