Hungry Mother Campground
We are going to be camping in a MH at Camp Burson. My question is how private are the sights, we are used to large sights with plenty of trees. Just wondering about others experience.

- The Camp Burson campground at Hungry Mother is like most commercial campgrounds - tight to your neighbor. The "B" campground is more typical of a state park, with larger sites (some still a bit tight to your neighbor) & a stream behind some of the sites. A couple of photos taken during my one day visit: Hungry Mother State Park, VA
- It is located in Marion, VA. in southwest part of the state off of I-81.

A narrow, steep road (not recommended for trailers or vehicles over 22 ft)

The second post in the thread has a link to reviews of the park, which include the location. Alternately, one could do a 10 second Google search, which is probably less time than it took for you to type your posts...

BWT: What do you think about Pawtuckaway, think I'll be able get my rig in there? How's the boating, think there's any big rocks near the landing?
The last time I was at Mt. Philo they had a restriction on trailer length. I've heard they've paved the road, what do you think about the view?
Watch out for Breadloaf Mt. even though the GPS has this as a major east/west highway that's one hell of a road.- What the heck state are you all talking about? Big country out there folks!
- We've stayed at Camp Burson a couple of times. We're usually passing through in the spring when it's still cool, so we like the openness of Burson with lots of sunshine. In the heat of summer it would probably be nice to be in the more shaded main part of the park.

Beware of all the add-on fees Virginia uses. We have stopped using VA state parks because of them.
