Heading to Huntington Beach in a few weeks. Don't really want the hassle of hauling the satellite and set up. Wondering if anyone had been there recently who could advise if there are local channels available by using RV antenna. Ours is a 2016 and should receive digital signal if any are in range. Don't really care about watching anything except news/weather so locals would be fine.

We were at Huntington Beach SP a few weeks ago. The park is in great shape. We never get great reception, but you should get a few channels over the air.
Looking forward to new adventures and new friends.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I think we are going to leave the satellite home and hope for some decent reception. Huntington Beach received less damage than Edisto and Hunting Island. We actually moved our reservation after the storm from a Hunting Island reservation to this week at Huntington Beach. Miss Hunting Island but thankful that we can still get a week in at the beach in the RV. I checked the owners manual and it just says we have a digital tv antenna. Not sure what type, but hopefully it will pull in enough for news and weather.

I have an app - TV Antenna Helper - that finds stations in an area. You can use your current location or enter a location. It says that there are 5 strong and 7 medium strength signals at Myrtle Beach. Looks like the 5 major networks are covered.

HBSP is in great shape post the storm. Many good channels on OTA antenna.

I guess you have been in touch already with those places on the Atlantic side. ALot of them really got hammered pretty bad in the recent coastal storm...

Some of those places my not be ready for camping yet with on-going cleanup...

We get 50-60 miles off our 'Over the Air' BATWING setup on my two trailers... If all you have is the omnidirectional type antenna then it will reduce your long distance range...

We used to bring our SAT RCVRS and portable dish along on trips but when the National Broadcast System all went digital HIGH DEF TV we stopped bringing all of that stuff along with us... HDTV was much better to watch using our BATWING antenna and it was free to use for the public...

There are plenty of stations available over the air.
