greetings. i will be traveling in mid to late october from PA on I81 to I40 to Memphis. i would love ideas for CG's for female solo driver of kia soul wagon who will tent camp or car camp with two small service dogs for one night of stay to just pass through to the next stop. can only drive about 6 hours per day. prefer something close to interstate. boondocking is fine, but quiet and safe are preferable. thank you for your help!

Here's a useful website for locating government parks (Fed/State/City&County) along your way. Often the daily rates are cheaper than commercial parks and you might enjoy the natural ambiance a little more. Drive safe and enjoy your trip.

There is a KOA at Staunton-Walnut Hills VA. Tent site no hookup $20 base rate.
There is also a KOA at Natural Bridge VA and one at Wytheville VA.
Another possible stop is the KOA at Crossville TN. The good thing about KOA is that they have bathrooms, some supplies in their stores and usually have camp hosts or managers on site.
another option would be a truck stop. There are several Pilot Flying J truck stops along that route : http://www.pilotflyingj.com/locations
have a safe trip!
