Ah, the Date Festival. Worked there while home on leave from the USN (as I did all through high school), apprehended this cute thing trying to sneak in the back gate in a '55 T Bird. Had to get her personal data of course.

Six months later, married the suspect.

That was 53 yrs ago. Still got her in custody.

There are tons of campgrounds. For dry camping I'd recommend Cahuilla County Park. They have partial hookups, full hookups and a tent area.

It's at least 5 miles south of town so there's some commute time there.

I like it as well. Set back in the mountains a bit. Reservoir type lake you can fish from shore. Quiet. Wind can come up quick though so put your awning in before you go to town. Not expensive. Option for dry camping or hookups. This picture was taken there. We had our little set up there but there were 45 foot A's there as well. Max 10 minutes to the date festival from there.

If you're a member of the Elks, travel a little north to Desert Hot Springs; You can dry camp with your RV there at little to no cost. The lodge is active and 10 minutes from Palm Springs.

Most places in Indio are overpriced and/or private..

We have stayed overnight at the Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino. Seems several folks stay quite a while. No hookups...just parking lot.
We have also stayed at the Riverside County Fairgrounds. They have FHU sites and just power sites.
Is it time for your medication or mine?
