Jellystone/Lazy River In Gardiner NY

Heading up there over the summer and looking for activities outside the park for various age ranges.


1) Middle aged active couples with no kids.
2) Middle aged couples with kids ranging from 7-10 years old
3) Grandparents who can't get around all that much.


For the active folks we might do Mohonk and the Wallkill rail trail. What else is there to do in the area?

Make use of the Walkill River Rail Trail.

PERFECT trail for hiking, biking and runnning, goes from Gardiner way past New Paltz. Watch out for poisen ivy on the sides of the trail if you stay in the center you're fine.

My son lives in New Paltz (-6 miles away) we don't do much except visit the granddaughters!

New Paltz is an artsy college town with a number of unique shops.
Then there is Walkway over the Hudson Historic State Park
The FDR National Historic site & presidential Library
