Lake Erie

Hi all. What's everyone's favorite campgrounds on Lake Erie near Cleveland? Took a day trip yesterday. We ate dinner in Lakewood then drove to Willowick and watched the sunset. I think I could spend some time up there.
  • east harbor state park near Sandusky, close to Cedar Point. Put-in Bay, Kelly's Island, Johnson Island(Confederate prison camp). Has a great sand beach right on Lake Erie. Marblehead and Lakeside close by
  • Erie PA is worth exploring. Lampe Marina CG is inexpensive and you can read the reviews which are all good

For a campground on the lake, I suggest Geneva State Park Campground. Good biking, nice lodge, easy access to town by bike, Nice beach and decent fishing. It's close to some of the best winerys in Ohio (Within 15 miles).

2x!!! Geneva on the Lake is quite the little town to visit also. Bring money and enjoy the eats! Something is there for everyone! It's not as big as Gatlinburg, not as glamourous as Dolly World, and nothing like 6 Flages, but you'll have enough to see and do in that town to keep you busy!

The state park is great! And the beach area in the park is great also! You won't be disappointed.

    Info, click here.

    Here too.
