Wrapping up another fantastic stay at the City of Bayfield's Dalyrimple Campground. $25 a night for 30 amp electricity, private wooded sites with fantastic Apostle Island views right on the water, and all the free split firewood you want!

No showers or flush toilet though so bring your own toilet and shower. I carry water from nearby city water faucets for our showers in our trailer.

And some tight turns and sites so be comfortable with your driving skills.

Walk or bike into downtown where there is so much to do. A great place to visit over and over again.

Congratulations Bob on your retirement! I have 24 years in at the county level, a majority of it as a Detective. I know I will always be keeping a careful account of my surroundings! Besides my pension, one of my top job benefits is being able to carry wherever I go.

Retirement is great. Especially law enforcement retirement. You will find that even though you are retired, you still look over your shoulder every 10 seconds and still sit with your back to the wall facing the door in a restaurant. I have been retired for 7 years after 23 years as a fed and my family still gets freaked out that I see everything that happens in a room. Someday maybe it will change but I doubt it.
My wife and I just got back from 4 weeks in the Rockies, long vacations are great.

Bayfield's AppleFest starts later this week. Too many crowds for us and I have to head back to work tomorrow--looking forward to retirement from law enforcement in 5 years and long extended fall leaf color camping trips.

years back the city of ashland had what the caled bay days all the merchants sold off there summer goods my in laws had a camp at teel lake close to hayward. wonderful country.
