Good day,

Has anyone overnighted at the Lander City Park in Lander, WY? We just need a place to overnight on out way to Yellowstone, no need for hookups or anything, just quite place to crash for the night.

We have a 23' class c and a small toad.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Stayed there several years ago. Nice shade trees. Police officer came through couple of times. Would stay there again if in the area.

About 5 years back we met our Nephew at lander on the way to the Tetons. He arrived the day before us and stayed at Lander City park in a tent. We stayed at Sleeping Bear RV Park in our Class C.

I used Google maps satellite view to get a look at the city park, which you could also do. I copy/pasted the recent comments about the park from Google Maps below for your information.

Also FYI, the short drive from Lander to Sinks Canyon State Park is worth doing while in the area.

"Lots of Parking, room for camping, big playground, and lots of open space"
"Awesome shade and great facilities if you need a place to cater or BBQ."
"The Lions Gazebo is complete with multiple grills and area for serving food."

A great place to spend a night or two. Plenty of parking for almost any size RV or bus, public toilets, and water fountains where you can fill jugs for water. It was peaceful and pleasant. Would definitely stop here again.

Sweet park, waterway and open camping. Tents all over the grass. Bathrooms clean. Highly recommend

Great park and city to visit. Free overnight for tent and rv camping right next to the river. Even was able to see a baseball game. Best well kept lawns if you were interested in walking around the city.

Yes we stayed at the City Park a few weeks ago.

When you get to the park you'll see a sign pointing to RV camping. It's one road and the back end was taped off. No marked sites, just find a spot. I suggest you find a spot with your RV pointed out since the placed filled up by morning, we had to back out 100 feet to get out of there. There is a turn around at the end of the road.

The park in nice, mostly shaded, right on the river (mostly dry right now) and there are some good walks over a foot bridge. The actual park is adjacent.

Not perfect but it's free.

There are two decent RV parks there. We have stayed at the one in town and it was very quiet and easy in/out.
