Late fall camping MA/VT/NY/NH/CT

We are new to RV camping (life long tent campers). We picked up a 2015 Roo 21DK hybrid in June. We are loving it. Our hope was to get out another time or two before having to winterize. Anyone have suggestions for places to go that are open past October 15? We living in Western MA so surrounding areas would be great. Thanks!

A few of the New York state parks are open at least through October. Moreau Lake, Schodack Island, and Taconic all look like they'd be within reasonable driving distance, and Hither Hills and Sampson might also be possibilities. They all are open (or have some camping loops open) at least through October, though some facilities like the dump station may be closed as the season goes on in some of them.

We like "Gateway to Cape Cod" between Boston and Cape Cod. Daytripped into Boston and Nantucket, both east trips. Quiet wooded park but near good shopping area. It's a Thousand Trails Park, we stay on our zone pass. (Also like Sturbridge Village park and Roundout Valley in Accord NY). The Zone pass has zones and the NE zone is very good. Currently at Ocean City area NJ . This is a great time of year to camp, parks are empty during the week.

In Ct there's Grandview Campresort & Cottages. Open till 10-31 I believe. New owners bought the campground 4 yrs ago and has turned this campground into a Gem! Beautiful country area!, Rail trail and Kayaking also near buy!

You may need to check with your state DNR web site to find out if your State Parks are open year round. Yes, open year round. But not necessarily have water as the water will be turned off.

Indiana State Parks are open year round. But after October 31, the water is shut off and the price of a campsite drops considerably. If you bring your own water, you can use your on-board facilities and still use the dump station, but water will be off at the dump station too. And bath houses will be closed up. If they have pit-toilets, they will remain open.

We've winter camped in Indiana this way and had a blast! Loved it! After the trailer gets winterized, absolutely NO water is run through the trailer. We use a portable port-a-potty, cat bath with water heated on the stove and tossed out the door. Great times! Because of work, we usually just do a Friday night through Sunday afternoon. But we've got the ENTIRE campground to ourselves!

Now, if you want to travel to Kentucky? Many of their state parks have water all year.

These are a couple of our favorites. Herkimer Diamond KOA in Herkimer NY. Beautiful rolling farm hills with great foliage, and Dorset RV park in Dorset VT. Nice shops in nearby Manchester and easy access to VT route 100. Both open until the end of October.

Aces High in East Lyme CT (a short drive down 395) is open all year. Nice little park. We stop there on almost every trip.

Try looking down the Cape. Some of them stay open a little longer than Columbus Day weekend. I think Normandy Farms in Foxboro also stays open later.

I feel your pain living in W MA.

Fisherman's Memorial SP in Point Judith RI is open till the end of Oct. if you can get a site. There are a couple places open all year, if they look far north, they are probably for snowmobilers, like in VT or NH.

If you go to ReserveAmerica, use the Plan Your Trip tab, enter a state, camping, and a date, you'll get a list of the campgrounds that are open on those dates. Make sure you verify it as it is sometimes wrong.

I don't know actual closing dates, but try Wolf's Den Family Campground (private campground, not the state park) -- we haven't been there for years, but they had great halloween weekends in October. It is also within an easy drive of Gillete Castle State Park and Goodspeed Opera House.
