Hi All, hoping someone one here can give me some suggestions. I am looking to plan our summer vacation, and I would like to find a campground, with full hookups, on a lake. The area I am looking for is somewhere south of PA, and east of the Mississippi. Some of the things we are looking for are:-campground on the lake, want to be able to walk to lake in minutes-A decent size lake, with decent fishing, don't want to stay on a small 3 acre lake-Full hookups-swimming area close by-not overly crowded-other attractions nearby, maybe a water park, or amusement park, but not required.-A decent restaurant or 2 near by.-Pontoon Boat rental Thanks in advance for any of your suggestions, I am hoping some of you in those states will have some good suggestions for me.

If your willing to come to Alabama, Wind Creek SP is our summer hang out. Over 200 sites on the water, swim or fish at your site. They have a new full hook up 50amp secton. Boat rentals, fishing pier, playground and some nice local restaurants.

Check out the Land Between the Lakes area and Hillman Ferry CG in Grand Rivers which has a few full hookup sites. It's a very popular area. Good eating at Patti's 1890 Restaurant for pork chops and Willow Pond for fish.

Honeycomb Creek in Guntersville AL, is great. Water front on 69,000 acres of water. Boat rental in the campground. Some of the best bass fishing in the USA.

Wind Creek Alabama is nice. Also, if you want to visit the space center in Huntsville you can stay at Joe Wheeler State Park. Joe Wheeler is a very nice park.

lakeside campground, aurora, KY on KY lake. our spot I backed in to within 7 ft of the water,pulled my boat ashore there. there is an adjacent marina to launch, rent, etc. on the water sites had a pump out service included, off water, FHU.

Defeated Creek COE Park in Carthage, TN would fit your criteria. It's a fantastic park, which huge, grassy full hookup sites right on the water.

Raystown Lake in Entriken PA has everything except full hookups. You can pay $8 to have the honeypot come by though.

HUGE lake you can swim and boat in. They rent speed boats, fishing boats, pontoon boats and house boats.

There is a small waterpark on site.

There is a restaurant onsite.

Last time I checked, Entriken PA is not south of PA. :B

There are a couple options I know of on Lake Champlain, too, but they're also not south of PA. (They're North Beach campground, in Burlington, VT, and Apple Island Resort in South Hero, VT.)
