looking for full time campground or spot, Murfreesboro Tn

As the title states, looking for a full time campground or land, etc to full time camp. Looking to setup my college kid somewhere close to Middle Tennessee State University, MTSU.

So far, I have found a campground that does monthly, but no more than 6 months and then gotta move. There is a nudist campground, but currently closed and the college kid wasn't digging that idea. Handful of other places with iffy reviews and more than 30 mins away.

Thought i might buy land, but with the current COVID and no foreclosures allowed the amount of property and land is scarce and stupid high.

We toured Texas A&M, and of course its a football state and you could throw a rock and hit any number of RV CAMPS. HERE not so much, I never heard of the Murfreesboro something football team.

Any suggestions or ideas on how to find or locate someone to rent out a spot would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, it appears they go into an apartment and good goolly its expensive tooo.
Thanks,
Brian

I agree with coolmom42. Another thing is that RV's require maintenance and things break, etc. What if your student was busy studying for exams and something "blows" OR malfunctions, propane runs out, etc., and they have to deal with that. When my kids went to college I didn't want them to have to worry about things like that. I wanted my kids to concentrate on their studies and do their best. Not possible if you having to empty tanks, fetch propane, troubleshoot their wifi, etc.

I had one friend who found a very nice trailer court near their student's university. They bought a mobile home in there and their student found a roommate. They lived together there all four years and when she graduated, they sold the mobile home to another student. It was perfect for them. A mobile would not have the potential problems that an RV would.

As I understand it, you are wanting to get your student set up to live in a RV year round. IMHO that is not a good idea. It will be neither cheap nor comfortable in Tennessee. Too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter; propane to heat a trailer will be as much as rent. It is do-able only if you have a nicely set-up 4 season RV.

There are few if any full time RV parks for the above reason. Just not much demand. Also because property values are high, and water and sewer rates are high. The whole area is booming, not just the college.

Unless there is some reason he can't manage it, a roommate will bring down the cost of an on or off campus apartment. If he can live on campus, other costs such as commuting, utilities, etc will be less.

Another option is to buy an inexpensive condo, and the payments will be less than rent. Get a roommate and that's a chunk of the payment right there. When he's done, you can sell, or keep it for a rental.

Call Tennessee Livestock Center, MTSU, at 615-898-5575, for reservations at the University. Parking is at 1720 Greenland Dr.. You can’t live there, but you should be able to stay long enough to get your child moved in. Good luck.

Never heard of hipcamp.com. Looked around most are tent / small rv. No hookups for a bigger rig. Looks like a good thing if your trying to do it on the cheap and just rolling around the country. I'll have to pass that one on.

Years ago I stayed here. More like a "trailer park" than a campground. 1/2 way between Nashville and Murfreesboro

Middle Tennessee has won 13 conference championships, seven outright and six shared.

And of course the Tennessee Titans in Nashville for only an hour away.
