Weather across Louisiana, southern Mississippi, southern Alabama tends to be disappointing those months if the reason for going south is warmth and sunshine. Depends on what you are looking for, winter in the region somewhat resembles summers in cool, wet northern coastal areas like Iceland, coastal Alaska, but without benefit of very long days. Those who do winter in the region tend to prefer places right on the coast, Florida Panhandle west to Gulfport.

- Teacher_s_PetExplorerIf these are booked up take a look at Bayou Segnette State Park SW of New Orleans. We stayed there last spring while exploring the area, nice park.

Anyone know why there are so many spots availabe in the Fountianbleau and Fairview -Riverside parks duing Jan- Feb time frame?
Maybe because not many people are camping that time of year??????? - Dannyabear1ExplorerFairway riverside is small and usually booked up, the older section in the front is small and tight, newer by the river sites are much bigger and usually go first; Fountainbleu is huge and almost always has openings, especially this time of year.
- southernskyExplorerCold, rainy time of the year. Weekends usually have more people. Both parks are nice.
